Diamond Jubilee Tips: Tasleet

Tasleet victory in the Duke Of York seems to be viewed with some suspicion because i’m struggling to see why his is 8/1. Granted that win wasn’t expected, he was sent off at 14/1 but his 6f record now reads 411211 his only defeats coming on debut and second to the excellent Shalaa.

The soft ground at York might have contributed to his surprise win but William Haggas said he was worried about it before hand. He’s won and good to firm and might even been see to better effect on a sound surface.

What I particularly liked about Tasleet’s win at York was his strong finish off a solid gallop. Always travelling strongly he covered the final 3f, 0.75s quicker than anything else in the race and that was despite a troubled passage.

Magical Memory should improve on the better ground but he’s still got 3/4 of a second to make up on Tasleet and that won’t be easy.
