Britannia Tips: Third Dimension

Apprentice jockey Colin Keane is enjoying a fine season in Ireland and the gelded Third Dimension has made big improvements over the winter.

In recent months young apprentice Oisin Murphy has been taking all the plaudits but in the 5.00 Ascot we get to see another talented 18-year-old.

Colin Keane has enjoyed a fantastic 12 months, which culminated in him becoming the stable jockey to trainer Ger Lyons.

In 2014, Keane has a 17% strike rate in Ireland with his mounts generating £56.30 profit to £1 stakes.

On Thursday, he is making a rare foray to the UK to put his 3lbs claim to good use on Third Dimension in the Britannia.

Potentially well drawn in stall 31 he has plenty of pace around him, with Crowdmania a likely front-runner from gate 28.

The handicapper has given Third Dimension a 15lbs hike for his 3 length win at Limerick but connections believe he will be a better horse on quicker ground.

Third Dimension is widely available at 16/1 but I recommend placing the bet with Paddy Power at 14/1 because they are going an extra place with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
