Albany Stakes Tip: Bletchley

Albany Stakes Tip: Bletchley

Showed tremendous change of pace to overcome a poor draw and a steady gallop and win on debut.

British trainers have held sway in the Albany Stakes (2.30) over recent years and they could score again with Bletchley.

Unfancied at 25/1 on debut at Nottingham things went bad to worse when drawn in stall 12 she was annexed from the main group, with only Mesmeric Moment for company on the stand’s side.

With 3f to go she was at least 4 lengths behind the leader Reeh (racing up the middle of the track) and the pace was no better than even.

Despite this handicap, Bletchley showed a tremendous turn of foot to comfortably run the fastest closing sectional of the race and overhaul Reeh in the shadow of the post.

The time of her win was good and with a sectional upgrade earns a speed rating of 85. That is amongst the best in the Albany field, along with Cuff and at 16/1 she is a good bet.

Place the bet with Skybet and get money back as a free bet (£25 max) if your horses finishes second in the 2.30 Ascot
