You’ll struggled to find a worse race all winter than the 4.35 Chelmsford but that doesn’t mean we should avoid it for betting purposes, especially since some of these couldn’t win a one horse race!
The only two that you can make any sort of case for are Name That Toon and Romancingthestone both have apprentices onboard but Josephine Gorden on Romancingthestone is far more experienced (169 rides) than Jack Osborn (14 rides) on Name That Toon.
The jockey isn’t the only factor at play, the horse also has potential for improvement.
Last time she tracked a strong pace (98% finish speed vs 100.5% par) over 7f at Southwell and simply didn’t get home. Nevertheless, she ran an ok time for the grade and when upgraded for sectionals gives her the best speed rating in the field.
In a poor race, she is the good bet at 11/4 (Bet365).
