Ripon: Selby's Pride
Badly hampered and almost brought down at Beverley but some how managed to rally and was only beaten a neck. Clocked second fastest closing sectional and races as unpenalised 'winner'.
Only 1lbs splits Lucy Lulu and Selby’s Pride on official ratings but whereas Lucy Lulu carries a penalty, Selby’s Pride gets a pull at the weights have been an unlucky loser last time.
Selby’s Pride was badly hampered when looking a big danger at Beverley. She was so badly interfered with, horse and rider almost came down, considering the near-catastrophe it was amazing she rallied to only be beaten a neck.
This incident won’t have gone unnoticed by the betting public but Selby’s Price still managed to clock the second fastest closing sectional in the race and the overall time was fair. She can make amends in what doesn’t appear to be a strong race.
