Ripon: Afandem
Slightly better off at the weights than when battling several of these in September (finished a neck second). Started season well with fine run at Musselburgh and handicapped to win a race.
The 5.40 Ripon contains several horses who faced-off over course and distance in September. Pavers Pride won by a neck from Afandem but the latter enjoys a small pull at the weights and can turnaround the form.
The 7-year-old finished a clear second (no match for Fashion Advice) on his seasonal return at Musselburgh and having won off a mark in the low 70s previously looks ready to strike again.
He’s clearly in good form, runs the track well (twice runner-up at Ripon) and has a capable apprentice aboard.
