Rich Again Can Rack Up Another Winning Streak

Rich Again At It Again

On his last start, Rich Again clocked the joint third fastest closing sectional out of the last 4717 runners at Wolverhampton.

It seems an odd thing to say about a winner of a class 5 handicap but Rich Again was stunning on the 5 February at Wolverhampton.

The 7-year-old came from last to first (off a no more than even pace) to record a whopping sectional adjusted speed rating of 85. He covered the final 2f in 22.19s, the fastest of the night by 0.67s and the joint third fastest closing sectional in the last 4717 runners at Wolverhampton.

Encouragingly this isn’t the first time Rich Again has clocked a blisteringly fast time. Last winter he racked up four wins in a row and reached a peak rating of 84. It seems James Bethell’s sprinter has recaptured that form again and looks well treated racing off a mark of 77, 3lbs lower than his highest ever winning mark.

The only negative is the track. His last six wins have come at Wolverhampton and he’s only raced once at Kempton but he did finish third and if anything the Sunbury track is better suited to hold-up horses.

The manner of his Rich Again’s last win was so impressive he rates a two point selection at 4/1 (William Hill).
