York Tips: Tamayuz Magic
Easy winner at Thirsk and clocked a fast time for the grade. Unlikely a 5lbs rise will be enough to stop him and stable flying.
Mick Easterby has enjoyed a strong start to 2016, running to a 17% strike rate and £37 level stakes profit. His numbers were boosted by the rapid improvement of Bosham on the all-weather (5-time winner) and Tamayuz Magic looks another ready to climb the handicap.
Last season the 5-year-old seemed to improve with every run and he’s continued on that upwards curve. Last time out he was a comfortable 2.75 length winner and a 5lbs hike in the weights is unlikely to stop him.
At Thirsk, he could be called the winner a long way out, travelling notably better than anything around him. He then quickened off a steady pace to win with the minimum fuss and recorded an impressive adjusted speed rating of 85. Racing in the same grade he will be hard to beat at 11/2 (William Hill).
