Redcar Tips: Bedloes Island
Three-time winner at the track and looks like an improving horse.
The betting for the 3.45 Redcar looks wrong - I cannot understand why Bedloes Island isn’t favourite.
He is 3/5 at the track, including a win over course and distance a fortnight ago. That was a class 3 handicap which he won by 2.5 lengths and he actually drops down a level for today’s class 4 race.
Trainer Neville Bycroft puts the improvement down to earplugs and the fact that Bedloes Island has overcome the injuries that blighted his campaign last year.
He has clocked a good speed rating on each of his three runs this season and firmly looks a horse on the upgrade. At 11/2 (Boylesports) he is a cracking bet.
