Real Smart Selection

Real Smart is making up for lost time, like most of the field the 2.15 Lingfield. Unraced at two, she didn’t make her racecourse debut until August and she’s steadily progressed since then.

Last time out she was only beaten 1.5 lengths despite not enjoying much luck in running. She was held-up in rear behind a pace that was on the steady side of solid and when trying to make her move she was forced three wide on the turn.

Real Smart didn’t handle the bend particularly well but she should improve for the experience and should get a better position from her draw.

Racing off a mark of 75 I’d prefer to see her in a handicap but she gets a useful fillies allowance and there don’t seem to be many world beaters in the field.

On her last start she earned an adjusted speed rating of 77 and that should be good enough to win in this grade at 9/4 (Bet365).
