Pontefract Tip: Raselasad
Has spent his career running over further but showed plenty of early pace at Carlisle last time, doing too much in front and paying the price. Worth a go at 6f.
Raselasad is yet to race over 6f but his running style suggests he could be suited by a drop in trip/ Last time out at Carlisle he set an overly strong pace, the winner was 2.2 lengths behind with 3f to go and the third place horse came from 10.7 lengths down. Considering the early exertions Raselasad did well to hang on for second and clock an adjusted speed rating of 87.
The handicapper has bumped him up a three pounds for that run but he is lightly race and unexposed at sprint distances. Twice a winner on fast ground, he should enjoy underfoot conditions and the stiff track negates some of the fears of a horse proven over further.
