Pirate Can Ransack Bookies
Petticoated Pirate only beaten 3-lengths last time and ran fastest closing sectional after travelling strongly throughout the race.
Petticoated Pirate was a huge eye-catcher on her all-weather debut but the bookmakers have priced her up at a generous 8/1 (Bet365) to win the 5.40 Chelmsford.
She was a slower starter at Wolverhampton last time out but she was still travelling much the best turning for home.
Unfortunately, the slack early pace meant the leaders weren’t coming back to her but she still finished a close fifth by running the fastest closing sectional by 0.29s.
David Simcock has a terrific 26% (11-42) strike rate at the track and just a modest amount of improvement should be enough to see Petticoated Pirate win.
