Overrider Can Leave Poor Form Behind

Overrider Can Leave Poor Form Behind

Been going off too hard over a distance that stretches his stamina. Down in trip and won this race last year.

Overrider is a hard horse to catch right but there are clues if you look hard enough. He was beaten 11 & 13.5 lengths on his last two all-weather starts but it was the same story last year when he was beaten 18.5 & 15 lengths before winning tonight’s race also at 20/1 (Bet365).

Connections seem to have hatched a similar plan. The 5-year-old set a furious gallop on his last two starts and failed to see out the 12f trip. Most of his winning has come at 8.5f and 9.5f but the way he was ridden he never stood a chance.

This evening Jenny Powell is replaced by Callum Shepherd and often a change of jockey has brought about an improvement.

Shaun Lycett referenced the good draw in last year’s victory and from stall 2 he is well berthed to attack again. Don’t be surprised if lightning strikes twice and he wins at a big price.
