Oriental Relation Can Make All
Tom Eaves got the fractions wrong last time but compensation awaits from stall 1 on a more suitable track.
Drawn in stall 1 and with 7lbs claimer Phil Dennis on board, it is obvious what the tactics are for Oriental Relation.
Last time out he tried to make all at Kempton but Tom Eaves got the fractions wrong and went too fast. Oriental Relation’s finishing speed was 98.3% of his average speed, significantly slower than par.
The pictures confirmed the sectional data. Fellow pacesetters Stake Acclaim and Mighty Zip fell away at the finish and filled the final two positions. It is therefore to his credit that Oriental Relation was only overhauled in the final 100 yards and beaten 4 lengths.
The 5-year-old is better suited to a slower more galloping track (two wins at both Southwell and Chelmsford) and having dropped into a 0-80 handicap for the first time in over a year he can win at 15/2 (William Hill).
