Nunthorpe Tip: Judicial

Battaash has flopped in the race before and even at his best Judicial could give him a race. Has run big speed figures in the past and record over 5f on good to firm is 111181.

Regular readers will know i’m a big fan of Battaash. He’s run some huge races over the past two seasons and always puts up big speed figures, a perfect example was the 123 (pace adjusted) at Goodwood. However, he did the same twelve months ago and then flopped at York and given the competitive field i’m not taking the odds-against.

In opposition he faces another of my favourite sprinter’s of recent seasons - Judicial. A winner of 11 races (from just 26 starts) he has also run some big speed figures but hasn’t always had the best of luck.

Things didn’t go particualrly well for him in the Achilles Stakes (poor draw / terrible trip) but he’s bounced back with wins at Beverley and Sandown and deserves a crack at a Group 1.

When racing at the minimum trip on good to firm, his record is 111181 with the blot on his copybook that luckless race at Haydock. He’s got bags of ability and is a big price.
