Nottingham: Latin Five
Set overly strong pace in softish conditions at Beverley but earned good speed rating and better than mark. Poor strike rate but quicker ground & small field are in his favour.
Latin Five has an unattractive strike rate of 1/21 but he’s off a winnable mark and race in class 5 company for only the third time in his career. Last time out he tried to make all at Beverley but ran out of gas, having set an overly strong gallop in the conditions.
He should improve for better ground, whilst the small field could allow him to dominate. He has run big speed ratings at Wetherby and Beverley this season and the looks like a great opportunity to double his winning record.
