Newmarket Tips: Massaat
Very green on debut but flew home, running the final 4f 1.53s faster than the winner.
It has been almost 3 months since Massaat made his debut and I’d be shocked if he hasn’t improved in the intervening period.
He looked very green on debut and was quickly detached in last but once he got the hang of things he stormed home. Massaat was 9.3 lengths behind with 4f to go but managed to get within a head of the winner at the line.
The overall speed rating wasn’t anything special but he covered the final 4f, 1.53s quicker than the winner.
Last time out he was an easy winner at Leicester but the way he finished full of running I doubt we’ve even scratched the surface regards his ability. Paul Hanagan was very impressed and he goes to Newmarket with a chance of winning the Dewhurst.
