Newmarket Tips: Lexington Times
Is 13lbs below his peak rating last season and showed up well in two all-weather starts in March.
Lexington Times was highly tried last season, he ran in the Irish 2000 Guineas but is down to reasonable mark and can make an impact as a sprint handicapper.
He caught the eye when finishing a close fifth at Lingfield on his return from a four-month lay-off. He clocked a rapid 21.7s sectional, closing from rear in a steadily run race.
He built on that performance with a good third at Southwell but was unable to match Moon River, a smart performer on the Fibresand.
A return to turf shouldn’t pose any problems and he won on soft ground (on the July course) as a two-year-old.
