Newmarket Tip: Woven

Good sixth in Silver Wokingham from a low draw, whilst stand's side group dominated finish. Winner in Meydan at 7f and stamina could help if they go too fast in rain-softened ground.

The finish for the Silver Wokingham was dominated by horses drawn high, as that is where the pace and the race developed. Those drawn in single figures didn’t get a look-in; the best were Gabriel The Wire in fifth and Woven in sixth.

Gabriel The Wire proved he performed better than the bare result at Ascot by winning next time out and i’m hoping the same can be said for Woven.

A lightly raced sprinter, he finished third in the Shergar Sprint Cup last season and showed a good level of form, winning a valuable pot in Meydan over the winter. A winner over 7f, he needs the leaders to go hard and come back to him over 6f but the recent rain should play to his extra stamina.
