Newmarket Tip: Lexington Times

Newmarket Tip: Lexington Times

Hasn’t won for a while but down to a competitive mark and ran well without luck on the all-weather.

It’s been a while since Lexington Times last won on turf, July 2014 to be precise, but that came on the adjacent July course and back in Newmarket he can gain his second turf win.

A poor strike rate for an experienced horse is usually a negative but I’m more forgiving of Lexington Times because he’s spent most of his career working his way down from a ludicrous high mark.

During the winter, he ran well in class 4 handicaps and now that he’s found his level he can be competitive. In truth, he was unlucky not to win with poor draws and trouble in running accounting for two narrow defeats.

A mark of 80 is workable, he handles cut in the ground and the track should be fine. This is winnable.
