Newmarket: Mighty Gurkha
Having been rated in the 100s has tumbled down the handicap. Much improved showing after recent gelding (also hampered) and Harry Davies is 3-9 when riding for Archie Watson.
Mighty Gurkha has been highly tried in his career, reaching triple figures in the handicap but recently gelded and down to a mark of 84 he can carve out a career as solid sprint handicapper. Last time out at Haydock he was hampered at a crucial stage in the race but still managed to finish second in a decent time for the grade.
Harry Davies takes off a useful 5lbs and is 3-9 when racing for Archie Watson. If 8 runners go to post he would rate an excellent each-way bet to nothing but at this early stage i’m happy to go win only.
