Newmarket July Stakes Tips: Medici Banchiere
Routed a moderate field at Carlisle but his closing sectional is the fastest run at the track this season by 0.77s. He could be quite useful.
There is no point applying traditional form study to Medici Banchiere because his 10-length trashing of moderate horses tells us nothing. However, examine the time of his win and a different picture appears.
Hardly breaking sweat, Medici Banchiere clocked an impressive adjusted speed rating of 89 at Carlisle, running the final 3f an amazing 1.32s quicker than his nearest rival.
Medici Banchiere covered the final 3f in 35.19s, the fastest closing sectional at the track all season by a whopping 0.77s.
Before we get too carried away there needs to be some context. Not many top class horses run at Carlisle, in total only 263 horses have run there up until the end of June and that is before we even take the going into consideration.
However, Karl Burke has a nice two-year-old on his hands and given where he’s been running the market has underestimated him at 28/1 (Bet365).
