Newcastle: Watchable

I couldn’t split North Wind and Be Proud on their last running but the good news is a I don’t need to. The pair are up into class 3 company and that brings better horses into play, one of which is Watchable.

With a strike rate of 7/32 in class 3 races, this is his level and the handicapper has given him a chance having been rated 100 back in October. Last time he was well beaten at Chelmsford but a strongly run 6f stretches his stamina and he was still travelling powerfully until the tank emptied in the final furlong.

A previous course and distance winner, he ran well when last seen at the track finishing third behind Venturous and Exalted Angel, whilst giving them both weight. That is very strong form and a repeat should see him go close.
