Newcastle Tips: Men United
Won off a mark of 69 at Lingfield last winter but returns to the all-weather rated 58 because of a lacklustre turf campaign.
The 7.15 Newcastle isn’t much of a race but Men United has a real chance if returning to the sort of form he showed last winter.
His summer campaign was largely fruitless and he is now 0/12 on turf. However, his mark has tumbled and he returns to the all-weather 8lbs lower than when he finished in March.
We haven’t seen the 3-year-old for 91 days but he ran respectably at Nottingham without getting home over 6f and was also a close 5th at Catterick when not helped by a wide draw.
Go back to last winter and Men United won at Lingfield off a mark of 69 and was only 2.25 lengths behind Agueroo (now rated in the 90s).
Garry Moss is enjoying his most successful ever year in terms of winners and the eye-shield and blinkers might give him the edge in a moderate race.
