Newcastle Tips: King Crimson
Has been out of form but only beaten a nose last time and recorded a good speed rating in defeat.
King Crimson had been badly out of form but sprang back into life when second at Windsor by a nose last time.
The 3-year-old set a true pace but that probably cost him near the finish as he went down by a nose.
Despite the narrow margin of defeat there is plenty of cause for optimism. He ran a good speed rating for the grade and looks back to the level of form that saw him finish fifth in a class 2 handicap at the start of May.
The majority of Mick Channon’s horses are running well and compensation for King Crimson should arrive in the 4.40 Newcastle.
