Newcastle Tips: Faintly

Faintly has got plenty going for him in the 2.40 Newcastle. He is 2/2 at the track and is 4/8 when racing in class 6 handicaps. The only slight negative is he runs over a mile, rather than 7f this afternoon but there is every chance he gets the trip.

Last time out at Beverley, from a wide draw he found himself in rear in a steadily run race. There wasn’t much James Sullivan could do, as the race descended into a sprint finish and the winner made all.

Faintly trailed in 6.5 lengths behind the winner in ninth but eye-catchingly ran the fastest closing sectional of the race.

The handicapper has dropped him 4lbs for that (good) run and that allows him to drop in grade. At his best coming through horses, he should have the race run to suit.
