Newcastle Tips: Asian Trader
Impressive on his last start, quickening well to win when badly positioned. Well drawn near the early pace.
The Gosforth Park Cup (7.45 Newcastle) could be determined by the draw this evening.
All the pace horses are in the top half of the draw with the likes of Red Baron (stall 3) and Magical Macey (stall 5) regular front-runners.
I think a horse from a single digit stall will win the race and that could be Asian Trader.
I was mightily impressed by his win at Nottingham last time out. He was stuck on the rail, three lengths behind two pacesetters that weren’t slowing down but he showed a tremendous turn of foot to win the race.
His finishing speed of 103.5% was quicker than par and I think he will be better suited by tonight’s stronger pace.
Rated only 87, there is plenty of headroom in his mark and he is a big price at 11/1 (William Hill).
