Newcastle Tip: Longroom
Record at the minimum trip in class 6 contests is 1311. Not raced much on the all-weather but ran well on last start and should capitalise on a generous looking handicap mark.
Longroom doesn’t have much experience on the all-weather, this is only his second start on an artificial surface but that aside there is plenty to like about him. He’s got a good strike rate for a sprint handicapper (6/31) and races off his lowest handicap mark in well over two years.
Having started the season rated 81 he is finding his level again and ran well when fourth by 0.75 lengths on his last start at Catterick. The minimum trip is his speciality and when racing over 5f in class 6 contests his record is 1311. He shouldn’t be a double figure price.
