Newcastle Tip: Fuel Injection
Returned from a 292-day break to run a fair race on debut for Ruth Carr. Tired at finish after tracking strong pace but should strip fitter for the run.
Fuel Injection doesn’t have a particularly impressive strike rate (3-43) but the 8.45 Newcastle isn’t a great race and there is upside to his profile. This is his second start for Ruth Carr and he showed up well on debut for the yard after a 292-day break.
He understandably tired after tracking a strong pace (finishing speed was slower than par) but he was only beaten by 4.5 lengths from a wide draw. Last time he raced over course and distance he was only beaten 2-lengths and with potential improvement to come he is a good bet.
