Is 5lbs below last winning mark and 5/20 strike rate at the track. Had excuses on last three starts with combination of draw, trip and slow start compromising his chances but never beaten far.
Almost exactly a year ago Tathmeen struck a rich vein of form, winning three times over course and distance and he looks capable of striking again. He is now 5lbs below his last winning mark and has shaped with promise.
Three starts back he was a close fourth when slightly disadvantaged by the race evolving away from his low draw. Two starts back he was only beaten 0.75 lengths over 6f and then last time out at Wolverhampton he blew the start but clocked the fastest closing sectional.
Put all these bits form (and excuses) together and you have a horse in better form than results suggest. His strike rate at Newcastle is 5/20 and Harry Russell takes off a useful 5lbs and has a 16% strike rate on the all-weather for Anthony Brittain.
