Newcastle: Mondammej
Only raced twice in his career both times over course and distance; winning once in a fast time for the grade. Unruly but talented and should improve with experience. First time hood should help.
Mondammej is a bit of a handful, he’s been unruly on both visits to a racetrack but he has ability. He was mightly impressive when winning over course and distance on debut; clocking the fastest closing sectional, running a fast time and earning an adjusted speed rating of 80.
He was beaten by a head on his next start but that came in a match race and perhaps didn’t enjoy racing without cover (was keen early). He’s got a hood on, probably in an attempt to calm him down but he’s lightly raced and talented. I like his chances.
