Newcastle: Lucky Man
Undone by slow starts and high draws but that might not be such a disadvantage on Newcastle's straight track. Clocked a good sectional adjusted speed rating last time out.
Lucky Man hasn’t really lived up to his name as a succession of wide draws and slow starts have contributed to narrow losses. Last time out at Wolverhampton things could have gone much worse. Slowly away, he was baulked coming out of the stalls and then forced to race in last behind a moderate gallop. To his credit he ran a fast closing 2f to earn a sectional adjusted speed rating of 70.
A high draw could work in his favour at Newcastle if recent meetings are reliable, whilst the straight track should suit his running style and provide room to challenge from midfield. He looks fairly treated at the weights and this isn’t the strongest of contests.
