Newcastle: Eldelbar
Has been running consistently well and was travelling strongly behind a generous pace when second at Wolverhampton (nabbed by deep closer). Has won at track and should go well.
The 6.40 Newcastle looks a tight affair but i’m backing Eldelbar to triumph if he isn’t compromised by stall 1. The 7-year-old has been running consistently well of late and I was impressed by his last run; he tanked through the race tracking a strong pace but was just undone by a deep closer.
The pace again promises to be strong, and having won over 7f at this track, might be to his advantage. Stall 1 isn’t ideal but there is pace high and low and hopefully he can slot into midfield if they come up the centre.
