Raced away from the action on debut but good closing sectional and finished best of those drawn high. Normal improvement plus an unwinding of a draw bias should see him score.
When betting two-year-olds you are looking for improvers, it almost goes without saying that juveniles should improve from their debuts. That will be the case with Dubai Poet but mixed up amongst his ‘improvement’ is overcoming a draw bias.
He finished fourth over course and distance but raced too far away from the pace to get involved. Andrea Atzeni never got serious with the race evolving away from him but he was only beaten 2.5 lengths and clocked the third fastest closing sectional without being hard pushed.
He is potentially a decent sort and given a fairer draw should go very close.
