My Kingdom To Rule At Lingfield
Slipped to his lowest ever mark but recent form hasn’t been all that bad and he can benefit from a drop in grade.
My Kingdom has worked himself down to a career-low handicap mark and he should capitalise in the 4.20 Lingfield.
His moderate rating allows him to compete in class 5 contests and he’s only finished outside the top-3 once at this level.
Normally a sliding handicap mark is caused by degradation in performance but that isn’t really the case with My Kingdom. He finished a close third last time out, when a very slack early pace meant the front-runners didn’t come back to him.
Go back a little further and he was only beaten 2.75 lengths in a strong handicap at Kempton in December, when he came from a long way back to finish on the heels of the leaders.
Stuart Williams is a canny operator, he has a terrific record at Lingfield and, in a first-time visor, I expect My Kingdom to win.
