Musselburgh Tips: Robot Boy
Well drawn and overcame a strong pace to finish second on his last start.
The majority of the field for the 2.30 Musselburgh look exposed but in Robot Boy there is one horse who could be much better than his mark.
He finished a close sixth in a hot Ascot handicap at the end of last season and the top-4 have all come out and won to boost the form.
Robot Boy is yet to win in 2014 but he’s run two fine races. I was particularly impressed by his second place at Thirsk where he was the only horse who raced prominently to fight out the finish.
The drop to 5f is a slight concern but he’s won over the trip before and I doubt David Barron would be running him in a race he couldn’t win.
At 5/1 he is a very good bet but I’m happy to talk half a point less with Paddy Power who are refunding losing bets (up to £50) if your horse finishes second or third.
