Blew the start but was only beaten 5 lengths and ran the second fastest closing sectional in a hopeless cause.
The 2.40 Wolverhampton isn’t the strongest race in the world and Moonbi Creek has a massive chance if breaking on terms. Last time out he got left in the stalls and gave away at least a 10-length head start only to lose by five.
Callum Rodriguez managed to tag onto the back of the pack and was travelling well turning for home until he met traffic problems.
Despite the slow start and the energy expended getting back into the race he was able to run the second fastest closing sectional and earn an adjusted speed rating of 53.
That gives him plenty of room to manoeuvre off a mark of 54, especially if breaking on terms.
