Lingfield: Water Of Leith
Impressive early in the winter, beating the highly regarded Warrior Brave in a fast time. Failed to show his true running when unruly before the start last time. Forgive that and he's got a chance.
Water Of Leith had looked highly progressive but that optimism was check when well beaten in a three-runner race last time out. That wasn’t his true showing, he was unruly before the race and simply failed to give his running. Look at his Wolverhampton run in late December and he has a chance in this.
He pulled 5 lengths clear of the third horse, beating Warrior Brave (good winner since) in a fast time. It was an impressive victory and comparable on speed figures with any of today’s rivals. If he hadn’t have flopped at Lingfield he’d be a quarter of the price. Forgiving one bad run, with an obvious excuse, is a risk worth taking.
