Lingfield Tips: Zilza
Poorly positioned in a steadily run race but made good progress with a rapid 21.98s closing sectional.
Zilza was disqualified when her jockey weighed in light but I doubt that had much effect on her performance, which if taken at face value was very encouraging.
From a wide draw, Martin Dwyer tucked her in at the back of the field but this turned out to be the worst position as they went at a pedestrian early gallop.
As the pace quickened, she was left with too much to do but made steady progress up the home straight with an impressive 21.98s closing sectional.
Normally anything below the 22s barrier is impressive and although the fast track and steady pace played a part it was still a decent effort on debut. Better drawn in the 12.55 Lingfield, she looks capable of shedding her maiden tag.
