Lingfield Tips: Uramazin
Has run impressive 2f sectionals on his last two starts and if they go a steady gallop nothing can match his turn of pace.
It is getting on for five years since Uramazin’s last win but the way he’s performed recently suggests a visit to the winner’s enclosure isn’t far off.
Last time out he was only beaten 1.5 lengths in a class 2 handicap but for the second race in a row came out best on sectional ratings.
Held-up in rear behind a steady pace, he covered the final 2f in 22.9s; the quickest sectional in the race, unfortunately he was left with too much ground to make up as the leaders quickened.
It was a similar story on the 29 November at Wolverhampton, when he again covered the final 2f in 22.9s but couldn’t reel in the leaders.
Uramazin still posses a decent turn of foot and a step up in trip to 2-miles might work in his favour.
He rarely runs this far on the flat but I don’t expect a searing pace with only six runners in the field. If Liam Keniry can get him to settle, I doubt anyone can match his speed if it develops into a sprint for home.
