Lingfield Tips: The Burnham Mare
Tracked an overly strong pace at Ascot last time but not beaten that far. This is much easier.
The Burnham Mare’s form has been inconsistent this season but there is a little race in her judged on her fourth placed finish at Ascot.
Considering she was up against horses rated in the mid-80s she acquitted herself well, she was only beaten 6.25 lengths and recorded a fair speed rating for the grade.
One of the key features of the race was the very strong pace. The entire field were slowing down in the final 2f and The Burnham Mare was particularly inconvenienced, she tracked the strong early pace and her finished speed was 95.5%.
If you account for the unbalanced pace, her speed rating leaps to a respectable 70, which should be enough to win the 6.40 Lingfield racing off a mark of 60 with no rival rated better than 69.
