Fairway To Heaven needs a strong pace whereas the more tactically versatile Showtime Star is a better bet from stall 1.
The betting market for the 1.15 Lingfield is dominated by Fairway To Heaven and even though he is a horse I like (and have tipped before) he is difficult to win with, he hasn’t won a race since 28 June 2014.
Fairway To Heaven needs a strong pace in his races and Showtime Star could scupper his plans from stall 1.
Last time he ran over course and distance he won by setting a steady pace (108% finishing speed) and making all.
The 5-year-old is only 3lbs higher than his last win and the manner of his victory suggests he could prove hard to pass. Despite enjoying a soft lead, he still clocked an impressive 22s final sectional, which makes him versatile tactically.
For a sprint handicapper he has an excellent strike rate (5-26) and is overpriced at 11/1 (Boylesports).
