Lingfield Tips: Sherjawy
Ran consistently at the track throughout the winter and could capitalise on his lenient mark.
The 5.50 Lingfield is a familiar all-weather sprint handicap that harks back to the winter. Chjimes deserves plenty of respect with his 13 course wins but having tipped Sherjawy numerous times, I am giving him one last chance.
He might not be as good as Chjimes but he did finish in front of him on 4 April over course and distance. He is also 5lbs better off than their last meeting.
Although there should be a strong pace in the race, the big field could favour Sherjawy who has a bit more early speed than the favourite. This should allow him to get a better position turning into the straight, whereas Chjimes will have to trust his luck and scythe his way through the field.
It is a two-horse race in my book, but at these odds Sherjawy is the value at 14/1 (Stan James).
