Lingfield Tips: Sacred Trust
Waited for too long in rear last time after leaders had flown. Clocked the fastest closing sectional and not hard ridden.
The 11.30 Lingfield contains a couple of debutants from powerful yards but they’ll have to be useful horses to beat Sacred Trust, who already has a run under his belt.
Three weeks ago he was beaten 4.25 lengths over course and distance but he shaped much better than the bare result.
Martin Harley waiting too long in rear, behind a pace that was no better than solid (103.7% finishing speed) and the leaders had flown before he got motoring.
From a hopeless position, Sacred Trust ran comfortably the fastest closing sectional under a hands and heels ride, making up 3.75 lengths on the leaders in the final two furlongs.
I expect he’ll be ridden much closer to the pace this time and can win at 5/2 (William Hill).
