Lingfield Tips: Roman Legion

Last time at Brighton I thought we were on to a winner with Roman Legion. Well backed before the off, he travelled strongly to hit the front 2f-out but found nothing and was swamped at the finish, eventually finishing fifth.

It was the first time he’d encountered good-to-firm ground but the way he lugged left I wonder if he’d lost a shoe or injured himself.

Whatever the reason I’m willing to give him a second chance because his debut run was full of promise. After blowing the start and looking very green, he motored home, running the second fastest closing sectional not much slower than the useful winner.

A repeat of his last run at Brighton and we have no chance but if he returns to the form he showed on debut, then we could be sitting pretty with odds of 12/1.
