Lingfield Tips: Polar Kite

Lingfield Tips: Polar Kite

Previous course and distance winner who ran a rapid 21.78s closing sectional on his last visit to the track.

Polar Kite isn’t the easiest of rides given his hold-up style but Rob Hornby knows him well and the pair could repeat their April win over course and distance in the 12.10 Lingfield.

Polar Kite is at his best over 7f at Lingfield and ran a fine race in a higher grade two starts back. Held-up in rear behind a very steady gallop he was left with too much to do but still managed to clock a rapid 21.78s closing sectional.

He finished further down the field next time at Chelmsford but various things went against him. From a poor draw, he had too much ground to make up and this time tried to challenge wide around the bend. Chasing a strong pace over an 8f trip that stretches his stamina he ran out of gas in the final furlong but there was enough encouragement to suggest he is still in form.

With a 2/14 strike-rate in class 6 races and back at his favourite track, Polar Kite looks overpriced.
