Lingfield Tips: Palace Moon

Hasn’t finished outside the places on his last three starts and a low draw could prove crucial with very little pace in the race.

The 3.35 Lingfield is characterised by a complete absence of pace and that means the draw becomes even more important.

If the early pace is middling then you don’t want to be posted wide without any cover. I expect several horses will fail to settle and their races will be lost in the first 200 yards.

Palace Moon has the ideal draw in stall 1, giving Jim Crowley the option to either make the running or stalk the leader.

The 9-year-old has slipped down the handicap over the last 12 months but he’s run with credit on his last three starts, never finishing outside the places.

Last time out at Kempton he was best of the closers having been held up off a slow pace, from a moderate draw.

William Knight’s sprinter has bumped into a couple of progressive rivals this winter but with nothing of that calibre in today’s field he can win at 9/2 (Betfred)
