Lingfield Tips: Maison Brillet
Runner-up by a neck in the race last year and shaping as if a win is around the corner.
Maison Brillet is no world-beater but wins in his turn and that could come in the 4.25 Lingfield, a race in which he finished runner-up last year.
It would be no surprise if Clive Drew has targeted this race again because recent performances suggest the horse is building up to a big run.
On his penultimate start he was given too much to do by his inexperienced apprentice jockey but shaped with promise, running a closing 2f sectional on a par with the winner.
It was a similar story last time out at Kempton but this time the wide draw rather than the jockey meant the horse was badly positioned.
Yet again Maison Brillet stayed on with promise to suggest his winning turn isn’t far off at 5/1 (Bet365).
