Lingfield Tips: Epsom Day
Blew the start in a steadily run race and although no match for the winner, ran the third fastest sectional.
Epsom Day was beaten 10-lengths on his last start but it might turnout he was beaten by a smart horse in that shape of Altarsheed.
Epsom Day didn’t have the greatest of trip, he blew the start and was then in the worst place for a race run at a steady gallop (107.7% finishing speed).
Despite this handicap, he plugged on well and clocked the third fastest sectional of the race. Behind the potentially smart Altarsheed and Mr Khalid a wide margin winner next time.
Given his trainer is John Gosden we can expect further improvement and although his speed rating was nothing special he is underrated by the market at 16/1 (William Hill).
