Lingfield Tips: Encore D’Or
Not had much luck of late including when badly drawn at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago. Enjoys 7lbs pull with Robot Boy.
Encore D’Or finished 4 lengths behind Robot Boy a fortnight ago but granted a better draw I’m convinced he’d have finished upsides the winner.
Restrained from stall 10, Luke Morris could only sit and suffer as he was posted three wide in a race with a steady early pace. As the gallop quickening, the pair were in a hopeless position but still made eye-catching progress from the rear.
Encore D’Or ran the second fastest closing sectional of the race, only 0.17s slower than the winner and that is despite his troubled passage.
In the 3.45 Lingfield he has a much better draw in stall 1, conveniently next to Robot Boy in two. He also has a 7lbs pull in the weights.
There should be enough pace to set it up for a closer like Encore D’Or and hopefully we can see a return of his Chelmsford form, when he won a valuable class 2 handicap and was awarded a Racing Post Rating of 108.
